Who’s Oprah’s Real Best Friend? Reese Witherspoon and Ellen DeGeneres Battle It Out

We all watched Reese Witherspoon give that touching introduction in honor of her good pal Oprah’s Winfrey‘s Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2018 Golden Globes, but there’s one person who thinks she maybe could have done a better job…

Ellen DeGeneres!

The talk show host chatted with Oprah on The Ellen Show where she admitted she thinks she’s more of a best friend to the television mogul than Reese.

Of course—Oprah being Oprah—kindly asked, “But why do we have to have a better or a best [friend]?”

Ellen jokingly answered, “That’s what I told her! But let’s just acknowledge that I am the better friend.”

However, before she could finish explaining, Reese popped out from backstage, yelling, “Wait!”

The two immediately began (fake) arguing back and forth, putting Oprah in the middle, before she finally quipped, “Why can’t we all just be best friends?!”

She even went on to explain how her real bestie, Gayle King, is always happy when a new friend comes into the fold.

Well, apparently Oprah’s words didn’t register because Reese and Ellen still decided to battle it out for the title of “Oprah’s Best Friend,” playing a game of “Who Knows Oprah Best.”

The two ladies had to answer questions about things like what high school superlative Oprah won, which coveted award she has yet to win and which TV show she starred on as a therapist in the ’90s.

Find out who wins by launching the video above!

Max and Emme Turn 10! See How Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s Twins Are Growing Up

Believe it or not, it’s been ten years since Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony welcomed their twins, Maximilian David and Emme Maribel

We love to see J.Lo’s “coconuts” make cameos on her social media, and through that, we’ve learned so much about them.

Emme, who is older by 11 minutes, is already her mom’s mini-me. In December, the singer shared a video of Emme singing at her Christmas pageant, and she owned it on stage with the rest of her classmates.

While in January, Lopez shared a photo of herself with Max and explained what he finds joy in doing.

“#MAXIMILIAN. I try and take the kids a lot of different places to see what they are interested in exposing them to all kinds of different people and places and experiences… but this is right before he fell asleep…lol #computerkid #science#space #deepsea#mysteriesoftheuniverse #thatsmybaby,” she captioned the photo of them attending a basketball game.

The twins share similar physical traits but have grown into who their unique selves. One thing they have in common? They love to spend “quality time” with their mother.

While visiting The Real in 2017, the “Amor, Amor, Amor” singer opened up about her kids and how they’re the most important aspect of her life.

“You know, they’re always first,” she explained. “When you put them first, then everybody else understands the hierarchy. My son said to me this week, he goes, “Mom, I’d like to schedule… a picnic with you this week cause I know you’ve been, you know, working hard.”

She went on to add, “He was with me in New York, but still, he was like ‘Um I’d like to schedule a picnic for next Friday because we need more quality time.’ And I was like, ‘Okay baby.'”

No matter how busy her schedule might be while recording an album, her Vegas residency or filming for Shades of Blue, Max and Emme are always by Lopez’ side.

“It is a little bit insane,” Lopez said to Savannah Guthrie while visiting Today. “I take it one day at a time. Me and the kids are like gypsies. We’re traveling all over the place and just getting it done and doing what we can.”

But all of the traveling doesn’t stop the twins from having their mother celebrate milestone moments just like every other child their age.

Like when Lopez shared a photo of the Max and Emme dressed in their uniforms and ready for the first day of fourth grade.

And who can forget when they went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on with their mom last year.

Emme or “Lulu” and Lopez says that they call her, told Ellen DeGeneres that they have phones and text. Their mom added that they text their cousins and aunt in New York.

Meanwhile, all eyes were on Max as he hid in the famous box that Ellen has next to the interview chairs and even tried to scare Ellen. Emme jokingly admitted that Max bosses her around. He interjected from the closed table and said, “I’m a gamer!” The audience along with Ellen, Lopez, and Emme couldn’t help but laugh at the unexpected response.

Last year, Lopez took to Instagram to share an emotional post for the twins’ 9th birthday.

“Emme and Maximilian…I cant believe its 9 years ago today that God entrusted me with the biggest blessings of my life… he finally sent me my beautiful twins, my babies, my love and life in two lil human beings. I immediately felt bonded, protective, overwhelmed with emotion and like the luckiest woman on this earth,” the 47-year-old singer captioned the post.

“And I’ve felt that way everyday since. You make me proud every single moment of every single day! You are two shining lights that make this world a better more beautiful place for me and everyone who is lucky enough to know you…Thank you, Lord for choosing me to be Max and Emme’s mom. The word LOVE is not enough for how my heart and soul feel when I think of you… Happy Happy Birthday my lil coconuts!!! Mama loves you so damn much!!!”

Happy 10th birthday, Max and Emme!

Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and Biggie’s Josh Duhamel Says Show Is About More Than Just Murder Cases

The murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. are about to be brought to light once again in USA’s limited series Unsolved, but we’re going to see a lot more than just the details of their murder cases.

Josh Duhamel, who plays Detective Greg Kading, tells E! News that while he did as much research on the cases as he could, but his interest in the story went a little deeper than just the facts.

“What I wanted to do and what I think they did a great job of was figuring out how and sort of unpacking what these families went through, losing these two,” he says. “Yeah, they were great artists, but they were also sons…and they had a lot of people around them who truly loved them, and how that affected them. And not only that, but how it affected the people who were investigating it.”

Duhamel’s character, Detective Kading, was an LAPD detective who was best known for leading task forces investigating the murders of Tupac and Biggie. He even wrote a book in 2011 called Murder Rap: The Untold Story of the Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations. Kading also serves as an executive producer on the series, which also explores the lives of some of the investigators on the cases.

“[Robbery and Homicide detective] Russell Poole, played by Jimmi Simpson, obsessed about this until he died, right up until it basically might have been the reason he died,” Duhamel tells us. “My character started to go down the same path, and really truly wanted to bring justice to Christopher Wallace’s mother.”

Duhamel explains that Kading was intent on getting justice for Biggie’s mother.

“He knew what happened, but wasn’t able to prove it,” Duhamel says. “It’s not what you know, it’s what you can prove, and that’s really what the tragic part of this is, is that real justice was never brought to these families.”

The series also stars Wavvy Jonez as Biggie, Marcc Rose as Tupac, Bokeem Woodbine as Officer Daryn Dupree, Luke James as Sean “Puffy” Combs, Aisha Hinds as Voletta Wallace, Jamie McShane as Detective Fred Miller, Brent Sexton as Detective Brian Tyndall, and LeToya Luckett as Sharitha Golden.

Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. premieres Tuesday, February 27 on USA.

(E! and USA are both part of the NBC Universal family.)

Jennifer Lawrence Blasts Harvey Weinstein’s Legal Tactics: This Is What Predators Do

Jennifer Lawrence, Harvey Weinstein

David M. Benett/Getty Images

Jennifer Lawrence will not let Harvey Weinstein use her name in his defense.

In court documents obtained by E! News Wednesday, Weinstein petitioned to have a class action lawsuit dismissed. In response to six actresses who claim that he, along with The Weinstein Company, used his power to bully women and cover up his alleged misconduct, the producer name-dropped actresses including Jennifer Lawrence, Gwyneth Paltrow and Meryl Streep in an effort to prove that not every actress he’s worked with had a negative experience.

Weinstein quoted Lawrence as saying he’d “only ever been nice” to her.

Lawrence distanced herself from Weinstein Thursday morning.

“Harvey Weinstein and his company are continuing to do what they have always done, which is to take things out of context and use them for their own benefit,” the 27-year-old star of X-Men: Dark Phoenix told E! News in a statement. “This is what predators do, and it must stop.”

“For the record, while I was not victimized personally by Harvey Weinstein, I stand behind the women who have survived his terrible abuse and I applaud them in using all means necessary to bring him to justice whether through criminal or civil actions,” Lawrence added. “Time’s up.”

Lawrence joined Streep, who denounced Weinstein’s legal tactics Wednesday night.

“Harvey Weinstein’s attorneys’ use of my (true) statement—that he was not sexually transgressive or physically abusive in our business relationship—as evidence that he was not abusive with many OTHER women is pathetic and exploitive,” she told E! News. “The criminal actions he is accused of conducting on the bodies of these women are his responsibility, and if there is any justice left in the system he will pay for them—regardless of how many good movies, made by many good people, Harvey was lucky enough to have acquired or financed.”

Paltrow, meanwhile, has not commented. In the court documents, Weinstein’s lawyers argued that in spite of her on-the-record claims that he behaved inappropriately towards her in the mid-’90s, the Shakespeare in Love actress “was not so offended that she refused to work with Weinstein again”—nor “did her career suffer as a result of her rebuffing his alleged advances.”

Ed Sheeran Isn’t Married—He’s Wearing an Engagement Ring

It’s no secret that Ed Sheeran is a romantic at heart.

After he was spotted performing in London over the weekend wearing a silver ring on that finger, the 27-year-old “Supermarket Flowers” singer sparked rumors that he and fiancée Cherry Seaborn had secretly tied the knot. Sheeran also wore the band when he posed for photographers on the red carpet at the 2018 BRIT Awards Tuesday, adding to the speculation.

Lorraine‘s Dan Wooton asked him about it point blank, saying, “Are you married?”

“No,” the singer-songwriter said with a smirk. “I’m not married.”

Sheeran said the ring symbolizes his devotion to Seaborn, whom he proposed to in December. “I never saw why men didn’t wear engagement rings. It’s the same commitment either way. Cherry made it for me herself out of silver clay. I really like it. I haven’t told anyone that, either.”

In a separate red carpet interview with Sky News, Sheeran further addressed the marriage speculation. “It’s an engagement ring, because I feel like…I don’t know,” he said with a shrug. “I feel like it’s good to both do things.” Asked if he’s set a wedding date, he played coy. “I don’t know, but I don’t know if I’d tell you,” he said. “It’ll be a situation like this where no one knows.”

Sheeran told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe in January that he’s “never been happier” than with Seaborn. “I’ve never been more comfortable. I’ve never been more inspired. I feel like everything’s fallen into place,” he shared,” and it’s fallen into place because I’ve given it the time to fall into place.”

The singer also said he “massively” wants to have kids. “I wanted to be a dad, like, last year,” he confessed. “I’m ready. Let’s go! Tour bus babies: little fat, chubby babies that just walk around.”

Brooke Shields Shares a Pure Moment With Paris Jackson

Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images

Brooke Shields had a special bond with Michael Jackson, and now she has one with his daughter Paris Jackson.

On Wednesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the 52-year-old model told the story of how she met Paris and the “pure moment” they shared.

Shields first met Paris when the King of Pop’s daughter was just a baby. However, The Blue Lagoon star reintroduced herself at the 2017 Calvin Klein Collection show at New York Fashion Week.

“She turned to me and goes, ‘So you’re my dad’s friend,'” Shields recalled. The actress then said, “Yes, I am” and shared a sweet moment with Paris.

“Then I waited a while and I looked at her and I said, ‘I really miss your dad.’ And she looked at me and she held mine and she goes, ‘Me too,'” she recalled. “And it was just a pure moment.”

As children who grew up in the spotlight, Shields and Michael formed a strong connection. While rumors of a possible romance spread, Shields claimed “nothing happened romantically.”

“Of course we loved each other, but nothing happened romantically,” she wrote in her book There Was a Little Girl (per People). “I would be like, ‘Oh please, knock it off.’ He was like this kid who would ask you [about dating and romance]. Nobody was telling him and nurturing this stuff and I think he was terrified. He was terrified and sort of juvenile. I think there was an arrested development.”

Still, Shields told Rolling Stone the “Thriller” singer asked her to marry him more than once.

“I would say, ‘You have me for the rest of your life, you don’t need to marry me, I’m going to go on and do my own life and have my own marriage and my own kids, and you’ll always have me,'” she told the magazine. “I think it made him relax. He didn’t want to lose things that meant something to him.”

After Michael died in 2009, Shields spoke at his memorial service. She still remembers the last encounter she had with the singer.

“He sent me a beautiful floral arrangement when my dad died,” she told host Andy Cohen. “I still have the vas.”

R&B singer Trey Songz has been accused of hitting a woman in the face during NBA All-Star weekend.

According to TMZ, the 33-year-old star allegedly grew upset after an unidentified woman began talking to a male attendee at a party in the Hollywood Hills on Saturday night, prompting the alleged assault.

Sources told the outlet that following the argument, the woman then left the party to seek medical attention for minor injuries before filing a report with police.

E! News can confirm that the Los Angeles Police Department has received a report naming Songz as a suspect. However, they could not confirm the details of the report.

This is unfortunately not the first time that Songz has been in trouble with the law, as the “Bottoms Up” singer has found himself in hot water in recent years.

Last August, Songz plead guilty to two misdemeanors after destroying a stage during a concert in Detroit. He was sentenced to 18 months’ probation, as well as ordered to complete anger management classes, submit to substance abuse screenings and pay restitution.

And back in December 2017, the star was sued for allegedly smacking a phone out of a female fan’s hand inside a Philadelphia strip club.

E! News has reached out to Songz’s rep for further comment.

Carrie Underwood’s Husband Mike Fisher Shuts Down Split Rumors

Mike Fisher is setting the record straight!

Carrie Underwood‘s hubby made it clear to a fan (and the world) things were just fine—maybe even better than fine!—in their marriage, despite recent reports the twosome was headed for a split.

Earlier today, the officially un-retired hockey player responded to a fan @beverlyayers, who wrote on his Instagram that she was “praying for you and Carrie” and for the pair to “hold tight to each other” because there are always “bumps in the road.”

The Canadian athlete, who just announced that he be coming out of retirement to play with the Nashville Predators, wrote back to the fan, “We’ve never been better. Thanks.”

The sports star and the country queen were wed in 2010. The two welcomed son Isaiah Michael Fisher in March 2015.

Mike Fisher, Carrie Underwood, Instagram

Three days ago, Fisher, who wed the country queen in 2010, posted an Instagram with an image of a sunset over a lake and Bible quote from Psalm 139:23-24, “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way of everlasting,” which is a

The post had the caption, “One of my new favorite verses because I need this reminder daily!”

Many commenters were quick to post about their well wishes and prayers for the rumored-to-be struggling couple.

But it seems as though Fisher was all about shutting that split talk down.

Just last month, the “Before He Cheats” singer took to social media to gush over her main man’s big move back to the NHL.

“This is happening!” the Grammy winner wrote to her millions of followers. “Fish is back! So proud of you, baby! We want the cup!!!”

Over the weekend, Carrie echoed the same sentiments posting an Instagram image a t-shirt with her husband’s face on it that says, “The Fish is back!”

The 37-year-old athlete previously played for the Predators from 2011 through 2017, becoming the team’s captain in 2016. However, a year later, he announced his retirement after 17 years of playing in the NHL.

Rumors have circulated that Carrie was unhappy with his decision, but all evidence points to the contrary.

Looks like the Fish is back and he’s “never been better.”
