Aly Raisman: U.S. Olympic Committee Is Not Acknowledging Its Role in Larry Nassar Mess

Aly Raisman spoke out against the United States Olympic Committee on Monday after its CEO Scott Blackman issued a statement about the organization’s decision to bring on new board leadership and support athletes who have experienced sexual abuse.

Both statements come after USA Gymnastics president and CEO Kerry Perry announced the resignation of three executive leadership members. They also come in the middle of the sentencing of former USA gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, who has pleaded guilty to seven first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges in Ingham County, Michigan and three counts in Eaton County. During the sentencing, several survivors of his abuse, including Raisman, read statements.

“Since October of last year, we have been engaged in discussions with leadership of USA Gymnastics about the primary recommendation of the Daniels Report—changing the culture of USA Gymnastics.” Blackman’s statement read. “Those discussions accelerated over the holidays and today you have seen three board resignations. New board leadership is necessary because the current leaders have been focused on establishing that they did nothing wrong. USA Gymnastics needs to focus on supporting the brave survivors. The Olympic family failed these athletes and we must continue to take every step necessary to ensure this never happens again.”

In response, Raisman wrote on Twitter, “The Indy Star broke on August 4, 2016 after survivors courageously came forward sharing stories of sexual abuse and alleging organizational  mishandling. The next day, the USOC said they wouldn’t investigate (and even praised USAG’s work in the area of sexual abuse).”

She continued, “For the past week, survivors came forward to courageously face a perpetrator of evil and share their painful stories. Many of them, myself included, claim the USOC is also at fault. Was the USOC  there to ‘focus on supporting the brave survivors’? No. Did they issue a statement then? Crickets….”

She then added, “Over the weekend, the USOC released a statement shamelessly taking credit for a few USAG resignations (note: not fired), as though they’re addressing this problem. But they are still not acknowledging its role in this mess. ZERO accountability. It’s like none of us were ever abused!”

In addition, she wrote, “If the board members had to go because they ‘have been focused on establishing that they did nothing wrong,’ then the USOC must see fault. So what was the fault? And why just those three board members? How about the others, who either allowed them to do whatever they did wrong, or were so oblivious they didn’t know it was happening? Either way, these—and any other changes—won’t matter, until we know exactly what happened. Suggesting otherwise is dangerous to athletes.”

She then concluded, “INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION! What’s it going to take for you to do the right thing?”

Raisman has been speaking out about Nassar and USAG ever since she went public with her abuse allegations in November.

During the sentencing, Raisman told Nassar via her statement, “You already know you’re going away to a place where you won’t be able to hurt anybody ever again, but I am here to tell you that I will not rest until every last trace of your influence on this sport has been destroyed like the cancer it is.”

Several other athletes have spoken out against Nassar as well, including Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney and Simone Biles.

“Jump into something?” Shawniece says. “We got married! I think I wanted this more than you did and I mean, that’s totally fine.”

Uh-oh! That bold statement didn’t go unnoticed by anyone.

“You don’t know what I wanted so don’t say that,” Jephte continues. “You don’t know what I wanted so don’t say that.”

As the second grade teacher tries to cool down and step away from the argument, Shawniece is moved to tears as she begins to question what she signed up for on the Lifetime reality show.

After its 2013 premiere at The AXIS auditorium, located inside the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Britney: Piece of Me had been the crown jewel of Las Vegas entertainment. In its final year, Spears and her concert won four Best of Las Vegas Awards, including Best Resident Performer/Headliner, Best Production Show, Best Bachelorette Party and Best Bachelor Party.

Nine months ago, the pop star announced that her run would be coming to an end. “As I prepare to say goodbye to Piece of Me, I had no idea how magical this experience would be. Having my fans from around the world come see my show has been amazing,” the “Gimme More” singer told E! News in a statement. “I love Las Vegas and will miss performing this show.”

Spears’ manager, Larry Rudolph, previously hinted she might be touring Britney: Piece of Me. “Anything is possible. We have made zero decisions. We expect a lot of interest from all parties. Britney basically sells out every show, and she loves Las Vegas, she loves performing in Vegas, and Vegas is a possibility going forward,” Rudolph told The Las Vegas Review-Journal last year. “She might tour, she might work on a new album. It’s too early to talk specifics about anything.”

Candice Swanepoel Reveals Sex of Baby No. 2 in Adorable Video: My Boys

Candice Swanepoel, Doutzen Kroes

It’s a boy!

Candice Swanepoel‘s little one, Anacã, is already showing some brotherly love to his younger brother as the South African model announced the sex of the newest addition to the family via Instagram.

The model, who announced her second pregnancy in December, shared a video of her 1-year-old kissing her growing belly, affectionately captioned, “My boys.”

Swanepoel and her fiancé Hermann Nicoli will surely have their hands full with two little boys to take care of, but the South African model proved her dedication and determination when she walked in the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in China—despite being pregnant!

And while her pregnant belly has continued to grow, Swanepoel continues to rock bikinis on the beach. Most recently, she and her fellow Angel Doutzen Kroes, were spotted out on a beach day in Brazil.

Last month, the 29-year-old was photographed showcasing her small baby bump in a string leopard-print bikini while out on the beach on the Fernando de Noronha archipelago off the coast of Brazil.

Congratulations to Candice and her entire family!

Reunion Alert! Jason Biggs Introduces American Pie Dad Eugene Levy to His Kids

When even Jason Biggs couldn’t make his baby laugh, he knew he had to “bring in the big guns,” so he called the only man who could get the job done.

On a video shared to his Instagram, the American Pie star showed his former onscreen dad, Eugene Levy, eliciting giggles from 3-month-old Lazlo Biggs, a feat that had yet to be accomplished, according to Biggs.

Levy worked his magic on the happy baby, making Biggs’ wife Jenny Mollen say, “Are you kidding me?”

Despite Mollen’s own amazement, Lazlo’s laughing fit comes as no surprise to American Pie fans who loved Levy’s character, Mr. Levenstein, in the 1999 film.

Mollen, who is not shy about sharing candid moments, also documented the American Pie reunion with a photo of the Biggs boys and Jason’s “father.”

And while it has been nearly 19-years since it’s release, American Pie fans were overjoyed by the onscreen father and son reuniting with Biggs’ sons Lazlo and Sid getting in on the action.

Check out the video above to catch baby Lazlo’s adorable laughs!

The Internet Is Convinced Miranda Lambert’s Lyric Change Is All About Blake Shelton

Miranda Lambert

R. Diamond/Getty Images for True Public Relations

Next time you see Miranda Lambert live, you may want to listen extra carefully.

In one of her first concerts as part of the Livin’ Like Hippies tour, the country singer was singing her big hit “Little Red Wagon.”

But while performing the track at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, one Twitter user captured video of what appears to be some new lyrics.

The song, which usually includes “I live in Oklahoma,” were changed to “I got the hell out of Oklahoma.”

What came next was the Internet thinking this had to relate somehow, someway to ex-husband Blake Shelton.

As fans know, the pair lived in the famous state before they got divorced. And as Blake continues his romance with Gwen Stefani, the duo is often spotted in The Sooner State.

Despite the headlines thinking “shade” was thrown or this was a “diss,” one Twitter user brought up a good point.

“It’s a tongue-in-cheek lyric change because she doesn’t live in Oklahoma anymore,” one user shared online. “Is she supposed to keep singing that she lives in OK when she doesn’t or stop singing a fan fave song?  People are reading way too much into it.”

Ultimately, Miranda has moved on from the divorce and continues to be happily in love with fellow musician Anderson East. As for what’s to come this year, the country singer has a busy schedule that will take her across the country.

After the “Livin’ Like Hippies” tour with Jon Pardi ends March 24, Miranda will hit the road with Little Big Town for The Bandwagon Tour that includes stops in 13 cities.

“Thank you Greenville, Orlando and Atlanta for an amazing first weekend of the Livin Like Hippies Tour!” Miranda recently shared on Instagram. “Singing country music is all I’ve ever wanted to do. You all make it possible. #livinlikehippiestour #firstweekend #countrymusic! #dreamersanddrinkers.”

Bill Cosby Takes Stage in First Public Appearance Since Sexual Assault Trial

Bill Cosby

AP Photo/Michael R. Sisak

In a rare public appearance, the dethroned comedy king Bill Cosby returned to the stage at the LaRose Jazz Club in Philadelphia on Monday. This was his first comedy set since May 2015.

The former Cosby Show star, who is just two months away from jury selection in his retrial for his sexual assault case, was there for a “special performance” to honor the jazz musician Tony Williams.

The event, which went from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., was open to the public. According to a statement from his representatives, “Bill Cosby will honor his fans with a historic performance with the Tony Williams Jazz Quartet and he will be performing a special comedy concert that will culminate the evening.”

The 80-year-old told stories during the low-key appearance at the small venue and, despite his recent drama and legal battle, was met with laughter and applause from the small but seemingly friendly crowd.

FOX News reports that the fallen sitcom star joked to a child in the crown, “I used to be a comedian.”

He then did a long bit about going blind, which received much laughter and was caught on camera by Jeremy Roebuck of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

For the event, Cosby, who carried a cane, wore a sweatshirt that said, “Hello Friend.”

After doing some crowd work, the entertainer went on to do some drumming.

Journalist Bobby Allyn was at the event and tweeted, “I asked Cosby if he’s prepared for his second trial, and he looked me in the eyes and said nothing stonefaced. I then asked how he thinks #MeToo might affect jurors, and he shrugged in an animated way, put on a goofy smile and said, ‘I don’t know!'”

On Friday, a judge ordered that jury selection for Cosby’s upcoming sexual assault retrial would begin on March 29. He’s been accused of drugging and sexually assaulted Andrea Constand in 2004. The new trial is slated to begin in April.

After being deadlocked on all counts and 52 hours of deliberation, the jury was hung. Cosby’s first trial ended in June with a mistrial.

Over 60 women have come forward to accuse Cosby of sexual assault. Cosby has denied all accusations and has sued some of the women for defamation. He also claims his interaction with Constand was consensual.
